Founded in January 2017, the Continuing Education School of Chengyi University College, Jimei University is a specialized institution that carries out  assistance activities for self-study examinations. Its predecessor is the Self-examination Office of Chengyi University College, Jimei University. In 2007, with the approval of the Education Department of Fujian Province, Chengyi University College set up a self-study examination assistance institution (license No. 020723149). In June 2020, six majors of the College were approved with the main examiner qualifications for Fujian Higher Education Self-study Examination. In cooperation with Jimei University, Huaqiao University and Minnan Normal University, the Continuing Education School provides full-time courses of higher education self-study examination.

Full-time courses of higher education self-study examination is a new form of  assistance class for self-study examination. Based on the relevant regulations of the National Self-study Examination Commission and the Provincial Self-study Examination Commission, it combines the normal full-time teaching in colleges and universities and self-study examination, so that the self-study of the students can be integrated into the campus culture, creating a better learning environment for self-learners, and allowing them to develop in an all-round way in morality, intelligence, physique, beauty and labor.

The School offers bachelor’s degree (upgraded and independent bachelor’s degree) education in majors such as Pre-school Education, Animation Design, Environmental Design, Product Design (concentration in Visual Communication), Business Administration, Computer Network Technology, Network Engineering, and E-commerce. Currently the School has more than 1,000 students in total.

In recent years, the College has steadily promoted online academic education and cooperative education projects, signed a cooperation agreement with Xiamen Golden Strait Advanced Talent Training Center, set up a Radio and Television University and Network Education Teaching Site, and undertaken training projects for Xiamen demobilized military cadres to enter colleges and universities.
