The Management School of Chengyi University College, Jimei University was founded in 2005. Currently it has three majors (Accounting, Business Administration and Engineering Management) and 2,114 students in total.
The Management School adheres to the talent cultivation strategy of “serve the Maritime Silk Road construction, serve the industry development”, carries out an education reform policy that “strengthens the foundation, emphasizes comprehensiveness, stresses innovation, cultivates ability and improves the quality”. In an attempt to break the traditional, closed, unitary cultivation system, model and scheme, the School exerts the Maritime Silk Road location advantages, actively expands pluralistic school running path, establishes a new system and model for talent cultivation that is open, flexible, dynamic and of high quality. The objective is to cultivate application-oriented, innovative, open and compound senior management talents that meet the needs of the economic development of the Maritime Silk Road in the new era.
Currently the Management School has twenty-nine teachers, six professional teachers, including one professor, eight associate professors, seventeen lecturers, one teaching assistant and three doctors. The School has formed a dynamic faculty consisting of graduates from famous universities both at home and abroad, that has a wide distribution of academic connections, a reasonable structure of age and professional titles, and “dual qualifications and dual abilities” teachers that account for more than 80%.
In terms of teaching, in the past five years, it has won four provincial excellent resource sharing course projects in innovation and entrepreneurship, four provincial undergraduate teaching reform projects, two ideological and political projects of provincial curriculum, and two provincial education planning projects. Nine textbooks (including the chief editor of one textbook with provincial excellence and uniqueness) have been published. Eight teachers have won prizes in Teaching Competitions of the College, among which four teachers the first prize. In 2015, the project of provincial Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center of Management was approved; In 2018, the project of provincial undergraduate teaching team (application-oriented teaching type) was approved for the teaching team of Accounting major; In 2019, the project of provincial first-class undergraduate major was approved for Accounting major.
In terms of scientific research, it has obtained four provincial projects and thirteen municipal projects in the past five years. Associate professor Liu Jun was selected as Fujian Provincial Management Accounting Leading Talent, and associate professor Chen Yin was selected as Fujian Provincial Outstanding Young Scientific Research Talent.
The Management School pays attention to the overall growth of students, stresses the cultivation of students’ professional quality, and constantly establishes and improves an innovative teaching system that integrates teaching, competition and learning. In the past three years, the School has won more than sixty prizes in various provincial and national discipline competitions. In 2016, it won the gold award in the National Final of “Cloud Management Innovation Cup”; In 2017, it won both provincial and national second prize in the “Higher Education Association Cup” National Mathematical Modeling Contest for College Students; In 2018, it won the provincial silver award in the “Internet+” College Students Entrepreneurship Competition; In 2019, it won the international second prize in American (International) College Students Mathematical Modeling Contest. It has obtained more than fifty innovation and entrepreneurship training programs for college students at the College level and above.
In recent years, the Management School has always maintained a high employment rate. Graduates are favored by first-class enterprises at home and abroad for their solid basis of professional knowledge, excellent practical ability and outstanding uniqueness. Some have been admitted to graduate programs of famous universities at home and abroad, and many have been employed by fortune 500 enterprises such as the world’s four famous accounting firms.
Under the correct leadership of the Party Committee of the College, the Management School is united and innovative, and strives to cultivate application-oriented management talents that serve the Maritime Silk Road construction and the industry development.
